Jesse Bethea’s Illuminator reminds me of Harry Potter, so I automatically like it. The Illuminator is made up of very SATURATED HUES of red and yellow, which are split complementary. There is great CONTRAST between the night and the day scene in the sky via hue and value or color. LIGHTING is important to the character especially when the Illuminator takes the light away from the sky and the scene turns dark while he contains the light in his hands. This action SYMBOLIZES the Illuminator’s ability to control light and can turn the day into night. This creates MOOD. The MOVEMENT of the character is depicted well. When he walks he doesn’t face us, which gives it a more real effect. Also great movement when the Illuminator sends the stars to the sky.
